SDG Impact Report

Mobile Industry Impact Report

In 2018, mobile technologies and services generated $3.9 trillion of economic value as countries increasingly benefit from the improvements in productivity and efficiency brought about by increased take-up of mobile services. The mobile ecosystem also supported almost 32 million jobs (directly and indirectly) and made a substantial contribution to the funding of the public sector, with more than $500 billion raised through general taxation.

In 2015, the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals provide a set of integrated priorities for people, planet, prosperity, partnership, and peace.

Problem

Presenting a clear, cohesive global picture of the shape and scale of the mobile industry, and coordinating and collating the input of industry leaders on four continents into a cogent overview was no small task. Added to that, the report needed to explain the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in an accessible, memorable layout and design, and with equal national representation and diversity in design, images and contexts.

Solution

We ensured that the GSMA’s industry purpose – ‘connecting everyone and everything to a better future’ – remained front and centre throughout the varied layouts and contexts of the report.  Thoughtful use of imagery and colour brought humanity and warmth and conveyed the passion of the GSMA Industry Purpose team and industry at large – all in a cohesive, unified narrative.

Our go-to agency for reports, ensuring every design has a unique, tailored look and feel that is still consistently aligned with our brand. We worked together on creating the second edition of GSMA’s most high profile report, the SDG Impact report. With a complex and difficult review process, the team – as always – stuck by us throughout with constant enthusiasm and unwavering support. Their design and account management team played a pivotal role in the report’s ultimate global recognition and success.
